Jennifer

Master in Play Therapy
Child Clinician

Jennifer holds a Master of Child Play Therapy from Deakin University, supplemented by her foundational education in psychology. Her deep-seated passion lies in understanding and fostering child development through the unique lens of each child. Jennifer views play not just as an activity but as a vital channel through which children articulate their perception of the world and their innermost feelings. Believing firmly in the transformative power of a nurturing environment, she maintains a warm and serene presence in the play space, offering empathy, attunement, and unconditional positive regard to all children.

Jennifer emphasizes the importance of building a strong rapport and therapeutic alliance with the children she works with and their families. She recognizes that healing and development are often facilitated within the context of family dynamics.

Her therapeutic approach marries child-centred practices with a creative and empathetic framework, enabling children to express themselves freely and safely through play. This method has proven effective in her practice; through keen observation and strong rapport-building, Jennifer has consistently fostered positive outcomes. Her dedication helps children develop robust coping skills and enhances their emotional well-being.

Jennifer’s confidence in establishing safe and enduring therapeutic relationships extends to her young clients and their families, underscoring her commitment to the therapeutic process. Additionally, she harbours a keen interest in attachment and trauma, areas in which she believes play therapy can significantly ameliorate the impacts of early adverse experiences.

Her comprehensive and compassionate approach makes her an invaluable ally in the journey toward healing and growth in children facing emotional challenges.
