Psychologist

Meet Alana, a Registered Psychologist with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from Swinburne University of Technology and a Master of Professional Psychology from the Australian Catholic University. Alana posesses extensive experience across the lifespan, working with children, adolescents, and adults in private practice.

Alana has experience in assessments and therapeutic intervention addressing various presentations, including neurodiversity, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and relationship challenges.

Alana’s approach is deeply client-centred, recognizing each individual as the foremost expert on their own experiences. She fosters a collaborative environment in therapy, actively incorporating client feedback throughout the process. Alana is proficient in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and integrates techniques from other modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), play therapy, and mindfulness practices. Her focus is on assisting clients in achieving their personal goals by creating a bespoke and supportive therapeutic space tailored to individual needs.

Alana is proficient in administering diagnostic tests and offering differential diagnoses, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of each client’s unique challenges. As an integral part of the Assessment Hub team at EG, Alana works closely with the Director to ensure the effectiveness of all services provided. Her role involves assessing clients and contributing to the continuous improvement of assessment methodologies and practices within the team. Alana’s commitment to precision and excellence in diagnostic evaluation makes her a pivotal member of the EG community, where she helps foster an environment of professional integrity and clinical insight.
