Managing Director and Principal Psychologist

Faye Evans is the Principal Psychologist & Director at Emotional Growth Psychology Clinic. Faye is a strong advocate of mental health and wellbeing in the community, supports social inclusion and neurodiversity.

She became a psychologist in 1990 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience working in a sensitive manner with a systemic focus building strong and enduring connections between members in families promoting emotional growth and ensuring communication, care and understanding. Faye’s strengths are working with parent consulting services, group therapy and workshops in the community with diverse evidence-based knowledge based on the neuroscience of parenting, attachment, mindfulness and ego-state therapy. Faye enjoys group work and facilitates diverse therapy groups & workshops throughout the year at Emotional Growth and in the community. She delivers Tuning in to Kids, Tuning in to Teens, Circle of Security, Mindful Parenting, Heart to Heart Parenting, Bringing up Great Kids and Brain-Based Parenting. Faye delivers parenting groups to support families manage anxious kids, parenting positive support behaviour groups for families with ASD children, parenting group for toddlers and Perinatal Mental Health: Planning-Pregnancy-Postpartum-Parenting through “Baby in mind” and Bringing baby Home.

Faye is also Schema and EMDR therapist working with trauma and PTSD clients who present specifically with developmental/relational-trauma and focuses on inner child work. Her work is heavily infused by attachment theory and interpersonal neurobiology, where she applies the principles of the polyvagal theory into her framework and body-based interventions. Faye also has a special interest in assisting clients with eating-disorders.

Faye supports her team and works in collaboration with a Sequentially Planned Integrative Counselling Model (SPICM) to understand the child within the family dynamics. From where she combines evidence-based interventions with a strengths-based family approach.

Faye’s goals include working on her projects “Heart Connections” and the “Parent Academy” running groups/workshops for adults such as empowerment for women in “Embracing Change”, groups for anxiety, men’s mental health, weight escape program, and mindfulness self-compassion.

Faye enjoys a hands-on approach with all team members and works closely to supervise and impart her knowledge. She will often be part of the initial parent interview process and is consistently involved in the intervention planning procedure.
