Marianne holds a master’s degree in counselling and is a registered counsellor accredited by PACFA – ACA and the Australian Institute of Family Counselling. She has extensive field experience and is dedicated to assisting individuals in navigating life’s challenges. Her approach empowers clients by equipping them with new skills and perspectives that facilitate change. Guided by an emphasis on strengths and values, Marianne aims to help individuals lead fulfilling lives.

Marianne’s educational background includes a Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Integrated Psychotherapy and an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Family Therapy. She has substantial expertise in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy and has completed training in Parenting Consulting, which includes Emotion Coaching and understanding the neuroscience of parenting. Additionally, Marianne is skilled in Single Session Family Consulting through the Bouverie Centre, enhancing her comprehensive approach to family and relationship counselling.

Marianne possesses deep spiritual values and a strong belief in the significance of family systems and attachment theories in therapy. She approaches couples counselling with a caring and empathic attitude, emphasising the importance of understanding and addressing the dynamics within relationships. With extensive experience in couples and family therapy, Marianne adeptly facilitates discussions that uncover underlying issues and promote healing and growth. Her methods foster communication, reinforce bonds, and enable couples and families to resolve conflicts and strengthen their relationships in meaningful, enduring ways.

Additionally, Marianne is knowledgeable about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), enabling her to assist clients in leveraging these resources effectively to enhance their therapeutic outcomes and improve their quality of life. Marianne offers specialised sessions for parents, focusing on enhancing their child management skills and addressing behavioural and emotional challenges faced by their children. Through these training sessions, parents are equipped with practical strategies and techniques that help them better understand and manage their children’s behaviours and emotions. Marianne’s expert guidance ensures that these sessions are informative and transformative, significantly improving family dynamics and positive outcomes in children’s behaviour and emotional well-being. Marianne’s clinical interests are diverse, encompassing grief and loss, anxiety, life transitions, existential issues, stress management, depression, self-esteem issues, and abuse and trauma. She works closely with VOCAT clients and offers trauma-informed sessions. She harbours a deep passion for assisting neurodiverse adults in developing the skills they need to thrive in various aspects of life. Marianne utilises a client-centred, strength-based approach, integrating Humanistic, Cognitive, Behavioural, and Psychoanalytic theoretical models into her practice. This allows her to customise treatment plans uniquely suited to individual needs and aligned with the client’s goals, values, and beliefs. Embracing a holistic perspective, she employs the biopsychosocial model to address the comprehensive array of factors affecting her clients’ social, emotional, and psychological health, ensuring a well-rounded and practical therapeutic experience.
